Embedded Appellate Counsel

Embedded appellate counsel helps a trial attorney to watch over the legal health of a case so that trial counsel can focus on trial strategy. The two strategies may seem to overlap, but one is procedural and one is substantive. Having both an appellate attorney and a trial attorney watching over your case ensures the best outcome possible at trial so that you can avoid an appeal.

What’s more, appellate issue may only be raised before an appellate court if they are properly argued and preserved in the trial court. Embedded appellate counsel knows preservation law inside and out and can make sure the legal issues on your side are properly presented to the trial court–so that they can be raised on appeal if necessary.

The attorneys at The Appellate Group have helped trial attorneys successfully present and preserve legal issues to the trial court–helping clients to avoid the appeal altogether.
