The Utah Supreme Court held:
- After the court issued its opinion in State v. Andrus, 2025 UT 15, Defendant filed a petition for rehearing. In response, the Utah Supreme Court issued an amended opinion which: (1) clarified its analysis in paragraphs 7–74, and (2) corrected a non-substantive clerical error in paragraph 44 and footnote 50. All other aspects of the opinion remain the same.
