Carlie focuses her practice on appellate advocacy and complex legal research and writing. Her experience working within Utah’s appellate courts has given her a firsthand understanding of how judges evaluate arguments, records, and legal authority. She is committed to developing clear, persuasive arguments and providing her clients with thoughtful representation.
Before joining The Appellate Group, Carlie clerked for Judge Ryan D. Tenney on the Utah Court of Appeals and Justice Diana Hagen on the Utah Supreme Court. She also worked with criminal defense attorneys in federal, state, and county courts, where she developed a passion for ensuring that her clients’ rights are protected. Carlie graduated Order of the Coif from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.
Outside of work, Carlie enjoys spending time outdoors, walking her dog, playing pickleball with her friends, snowboarding, and learning to golf. She also enjoys reading, baking, and crocheting.
