Before joining The Appellate Group, I was a professor at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where I taught upper-division legal writing and ethics courses. The skills I emphasized in the classroom—preparation, precision, and persuasion—form the foundation of my appellate practice today.

In law school, I was a two-time teaching assistant, a team member of the National Moot Court team, and an editor on the Utah Law Review. After graduating fifth in my law school class, I completed two clerkships on the Utah Supreme Court. Afterwards, I practiced as a civil litigator for a regional law firm in Salt Lake City.

When I’m not at my desk, you can find me wobbling on a yoga mat, buying books I don’t need, or chatting with my cat, Simon.
