Mary is an appellate attorney whose practice is shaped by her experience in both criminal and civil litigation. Having spent years representing clients in the trial courts, she brings a practical understanding of how decisions at the trial level shape an appeal. She particularly enjoys the careful analysis required to distill complex legal issues into persuasive arguments.

Before joining The Appellate Group, Mary represented indigent defendants in Utah’s Fourth District Court, where she appeared in court and argued cases regularly. She previously practiced civil litigation at Parr Brown Gee & Loveless and served as chief of staff for Chief Justice Matthew B. Durrant of the Utah Supreme Court.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys travel, reading, and practicing yoga. She also loves hiking and exploring new ideas and experiences.
