State v. Aguilar
State v. Aguilar, 2022 UT App 97 (J. Pohlman)
Criminal Law
Defendant was found guilty of three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. He appealed, challenging various district court rulings (including its denial of his motion for new trial, its unfavorable ruling on a motion in limine, and issues related to the court’s response to a jury question during deliberations), as well as asserting that he received ineffective assistance of counsel in several respects. The Utah Court of Appeals rejected his arguments and affirmed his convictions.
